10 Reasons Jordan Is Better Than Kobe
Published by lakers-fan.com on September 28th, 2009 | Tagged Uncategorized
I hate to get into the Jordan vs. Kobe debate, but I will agree that overall Jordan had better statistics than Kobe. Field goal percentage, steals, assists, turnovers etc. - Jordan was better, but not hands down better.
Jordan definitely was not a better shooter than Kobe, but a more efficient shooter (on paper anyway). Jordan wouldn’t take ill advised three pointers or hoist up shots just to shoot it as Kobe sometimes does, hurting his field goal percentage. But the fact that Jordan shot over 50% 6 times for a guard is very impressive. You don’t see any guard these days shooting 50%. Just 45% is considered very good, and if you’re a guard like Iverson, hitting 40% isn’t bad.
There really is no winning in comparing the two. Kobe is great and Jordan is great. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Lakers win the next 3 championships and have Kobe overtake Jordan with 7 titles, but then people would still find ways to make Jordan better. This debate will be endless.
They should start a list of why Kobe is better than Jordan. One point in this top ten list I completely disagree with is the off the court drama. Jordan retired twice, missing 5 years of basketball in between those years. People tend to forget that. Returning to the Wizards to cap off an amazing career? Not the best move. If Kobe returns at 40 to play with the Wizards, please shoot me.
What do you Lakers fan think? Chime in and we’ll start a list of why Kobe is better than Jordan.
