The Los Angeles Lakers had a statement game on Sunday, as they were able to beat San Antonio Spurs 99-83, the team with the NBA’s best record. The Lakers showed no mercy and were up by 21 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The entire team stepped up at both the first and second units looked very good and were more aggressive than the spurs on both offense and defense.
Kobe Bryant had 26 points and kept the intensity on the Spurs even when up by 20+ in the 4th quarter. The front court of Gasol and Bynum were too much in the paint for the Spurs. The Lakers are on an 8 game win streak and are starting to peak at the right time of the season coming into the playoffs. Matt Barnes also showed some action and it is good to see him getting worked back into the rotation as he has been injured over the last 60 days. Let’s see if we can swoop the best record in the West before playoffs!
