Shannon Brown Back For More!

Published by lakers-fan.com on July 6th, 2009 | Tagged lakers, shannon brown

Shannon Brown has agreed to resign with the Lakers for 2 more years at $4.2 million, with the third year as a player option. Apparently he was offered a little bit more money with the Indiana Pacers, but really.. who wants to play for the Pacers coming from the champs??

The Lakers put Shannon Brown back on the map, and will continue to make his stock rise even more. I am a strong believer in Brown and know if he keeps it up, he could eventually earn the starting point guard position sometime this year, when an older Fisher may go down in injury for a little while…who knows.

But what we do know is that the future of the point guard position is up for grabs. Farmar unfortunately took a step back last year in his progression, and right now I would prefer Brown starting over Farmar. He is a MUCH better defender, plays smarter and really seems to improve each and every game. I don’t see that with Farmar yet.

Anyway, welcome back Shannon (Chris Brown). We will be looking forward to seeing a lot more of this next year!
