VLADE #2!

Vlade Rad-Man is the second Vlade to come on the Lakers. And boy, don’t we all remember the old Vlade- Mr. Big Time Shoppin’ for Floppin’ himself. To better remember him, below is a common pose of the big bushy bearded beaver man, having a teammate (AND AN OLD REF??!) pick up his sloppy floppy butt after an obvious flop . I really believe he was the reason the Lakers had back to back losing seasons in ‘93 (39-43) and ‘94 (33-49).                    Season by Season Records

The Lakers were spearheaded by the not at all incredible Vlade! I mean yes, he is VERY SEXY (I wanna rub his scruffy beard!), but he couldn’t shoot a free throw without sneaking out back to smoke a drag or two.

I still remember to this day back in 93 or 94,  those dreadful losing years, hearing Chick Hearn say in reference to an attempted Vlade full court pass that sailed 50 feet in the air ,and I quote, “That was the worst pass I have EVER seen.” From that day on, I wanted Vlade DIvac off the Lakers, and I also started worshipping Chick Hearn.

It’s also funny that in order to get Kobe Bryant in the 1996 draft, we HAD to give up Mr. Flop Shop. He was traded to Charlotte for the rights to Kobe Bryant. If there ever was a cancer to a team, Vlade was it. Well come to think of it, he probably does have lung cancer. Read this article about Vlade Smoking his way onto the Lakers (scroll down). Vlade for Kobe -  BEST TRADE EVER!!! -  and that’s all that needs to be said, with Kwame for Gasol coming in at a close second.

What do you think about the NEW VLADE? Mr Rad-Man …ovic. I have been discussing with my friend about how there’s no need to start him over Ariza, who currently is shooting better from three point range, and without a doubt plays better Defense - Vlade is Euro Softie - he’s still learning these things, be patient.

I have seen improvement with his defense this year, but it will take a while to forget those horrid moments of Paul Pierce running circles around Rad Man, torching the poor guy over and over again. Let’s hope Rad Man has a great season and continues to improve. After all,  Vlade #2 has big shoes to fill following the great Vlade legacy of old.
